Chef George

Born on the Greek island of Karpathos, the second largest of the Dodecanese Islands, George Kamaratos grew up and acquired many of the classical Greek food and pastry recipes, which he is proud to offer at Greek Cuisine.

Besides his family background, he also has extensive training as a pastry chef and chef de cuisine for over 15 years in New York City, Florida, and New Jersey. In 1990, he moved back to his native island to assume and expand his family’s bakery and cafe. After 18 successful years in Greece, George and his family decided to return to Richmond.
